Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of My Guest Album (“we”, “us”, “our”) website, guest upload experience, mobile app, and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. About the Service

My Guest Album lets couples create a private wedding album and invite guests to upload photos and videos through a link or QR code. Guests upload through their mobile browser without installing an app.

2. Who may use the Service

  • You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country).
  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account or uploading content.
  • You must comply with applicable laws and these Terms.

3. Couple accounts and subscriptions

  • Couples and organisers manage albums through our mobile app and related tools.
  • Subscriptions are billed annually (currently £29.99 per year in the UK and $34.99 per year elsewhere, plus any applicable taxes) through Apple, Google, or other authorised payment providers.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each year unless cancelled through your app store account settings before the renewal date.
  • Storage, guest uploads, and downloads are included for the active subscription period (typically 12 months per billing year).
  • If you cancel, your album remains available until the end of the current billing period. Download content you wish to keep before that date.
  • Prices may change for future subscription periods; we will notify you where required by law or platform policy.

4. Guest uploads

These rules apply when you contribute to a couple’s album as a guest:

  • Upload only photos and videos you have the right to share and that are appropriate for a wedding celebration.
  • Do not upload illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful content.
  • Do not upload content that infringes someone else’s copyright, privacy, or other rights.
  • You confirm you have permission from the people shown in your uploads where required by law.
  • You provide a display name (and optional email) so the couple can identify contributors.

Guest uploads are subject to album settings set by the couple (for example, whether videos are allowed or uploads are paused).

5. Your content and licences

Couple content

Couples retain ownership of content they upload. You grant us a limited licence to host, process, display, and deliver that content solely to operate the Service for your album.

Guest content

Guests retain ownership of their uploads. By uploading, you grant the couple a licence to view, download, store, and share the uploads within their private wedding album. You also grant us a limited licence to host, process, transmit, and display the uploads solely to provide the Service to the couple and other authorised viewers of that album.

We do not acquire ownership of your photos or videos.

6. Album privacy and access

Albums are private and accessible only via the couple’s unique link or QR code. The couple controls album settings and may download or remove guest uploads. Do not share album links publicly unless the couple intends them to be widely available.

7. Prohibited conduct

You may not:

  • Use the Service for unlawful purposes or to harm others.
  • Attempt to access albums, accounts, or systems without authorisation.
  • Upload malware, spam, or automated bulk content.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service (including rate limits and security measures).
  • Reverse engineer or scrape the Service except as permitted by law.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.

8. Moderation and removal

Couples may remove guest uploads from their albums. We may remove content or suspend access if we reasonably believe it violates these Terms, applicable law, or creates risk to others. We are not obligated to monitor all uploads but may do so for safety and compliance.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party infrastructure (including Supabase and Vercel) and app store billing. Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that every guest will successfully upload.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, My Guest Album and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or wedding memories, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) £100 / $100, except where liability cannot be limited by applicable law.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by nature should survive (licences granted to us for operational purposes, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity) survive termination.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts in England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers in the EU/UK may also have rights to bring claims in their country of residence where mandatory law provides.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
