This Privacy Policy explains how My Guest Album (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal information when you use our website at myguestalbum.com, guest upload pages, and related services (the “Service”).

We provide a private wedding album that lets couples collect photos and videos from their guests. Couples typically manage their album through our mobile app; guests contribute through a browser — no app download required.

  • Couples and organisers who create and manage a wedding album (including through our mobile app).
  • Guests who view or upload photos and videos to a couple’s album via a link or QR code.
  • Website visitors who browse our marketing site, guides, or other public pages.

Information we collect

Information couples provide

  • Account and contact details (such as name and email) when you register or subscribe.
  • Wedding album details (couple names, date, venue, welcome message, cover image, and album settings).
  • Payment and subscription information processed by Apple, Google, or other payment providers — we do not store full card numbers.
  • Photos and videos you upload as the couple.
  • Communications with our support team.

Information guests provide

  • Display name when starting an upload session.
  • Optional email address if you ask us to save it so you can return to the album later.
  • Photos, videos, and optional captions you upload.
  • Technical data needed to deliver uploads (file type, size, and processing metadata such as dimensions or duration).

Guests do not need to create an account to upload. We assign a browser session using a secure cookie so you can add more photos without re-entering your name each time.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and browser type, operating system, and general location derived from IP address (country/region level).
  • Pages visited, referral URLs, and interactions with the Service.
  • Server and security logs (timestamps, request paths, error records).
  • Cookie and similar technologies described below.

How we use your information

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service — including guest uploads, galleries, downloads, and album management.
  • Authenticate sessions and keep guest upload sessions secure.
  • Process subscriptions and communicate about your account or album.
  • Send album link reminders when a guest requests them by email (when that feature is enabled).
  • Enforce our Terms of Service, protect the security of the Service, and prevent abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
  • Analyse aggregated, non-personal usage to improve the product.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use guest uploads for advertising profiling.

Who can see wedding album content?

Each wedding album is private. It is not listed publicly or searchable. Only people with the couple’s unique link or QR code can view or contribute, subject to the couple’s album settings (for example, whether uploads or the guest gallery are enabled).

The couple (and anyone they authorise to manage the album) can view, download, and remove guest uploads. Guest display names may appear alongside uploads in the album.

How we share information

We share personal information only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers who help us run the Service (see “Processors” below).
  • Payment platforms (Apple App Store, Google Play, or other processors) when you subscribe.
  • Legal and safety when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to investigate misuse.
  • Business transfers if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you would be notified where required by law).

Processors and hosting

We use trusted infrastructure providers to store and process data. Key providers include:

  • Supabase — database, authentication infrastructure, and media storage for guest uploads.
  • Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
  • Apple and Google — subscription billing when you purchase through our mobile app.

These providers process data on our instructions and under appropriate contractual safeguards.

Cookies and similar technologies

  • Guest session cookies — a secure, HTTP-only cookie per album so guests can continue uploading without signing in. These expire after 60 days.
  • Authentication cookies — used to maintain secure sessions where account login applies.
  • Essential cookies — required for security, load balancing, and basic site functionality.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies on guest upload pages.

How long we keep information

  • Album content — stored for the couple’s active subscription period (typically 12 months per billing year) and deleted or made unavailable when the subscription ends, unless the couple renews or downloads their content.
  • Guest session data — kept while the album is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for security and support.
  • Account records — kept while your account exists and for a limited period after closure to meet legal, tax, or dispute requirements.
  • Server logs — retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.

Couples should download albums they wish to keep before a subscription ends. Guests should contact the couple or us if they need content removed.

International transfers

We and our processors may store or process data in the United Kingdom, European Union, United States, or other countries. When we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms where required.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your information in certain circumstances.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, email hello@myguestalbum.com. We may need to verify your identity. If you are a guest, the couple may also be able to help with album-specific requests.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Content removal

If you uploaded photos or videos to a wedding album and want them removed:

  1. Ask the couple directly — they can remove uploads from their album.
  2. Email hello@myguestalbum.com with the album link, your display name, and a description of the content. We will work with the couple or remove content where we are legally required to do so.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and industry-standard practices to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate.
